Outdoor Dining

June 5th, 2014 | Posted by Sandy Garrett in Out and About

Here in the Pacific Northwest, warmer weather and summer are slow in coming. Although we have started to see a few warmer days and more sun which has me thinking ahead to being able to enjoy dining outdoors.

Our last house had a wonderful deck out front and my husband and I enjoyed many meals outside. I don’t know why, but it felt like a picnic even when we didn’t go anywhere. Then after dinner we used to just relax and watch the traffic go by. It reminded me of times gone by when people would sit on the front porch and visit with the neighbors as they strolled past.

Here is a close-up of one of the table settings I used. I believe I found the silk flowers at a garage sale and the blue dishes were from the thrift store.

The sweet white salad plates were purchased from an antique store many years ago. I love the way they look with the blue dishes.

Suzy, one of our cats, decided to spend a little time under the table enjoying the shade.

While we no longer have the front deck for outdoor dining, we now have a deck in the back overlooking a wooded area. We enjoyed many meals outdoors in the gazebo last year and are looking forward to many more again this summer.
