Snow Storm – Can’t Get Out Of The Driveway

It’s a good thing we had just been to the grocery store and stocked up on food because after the recent snow storm, we have over a foot of snow in our driveway and we don’t even want to try to get our little PT Cruiser out.  Now I know that most people would just shovel the snow out of the driveway, but at our age that would not be such an easy task.  Besides, since we’re both retired, we can just stay home for a few days in a nice warm house and enjoy the snow from inside. Summer Flowers In My Garden

One of my favorite things this time of year is being able to walk around outside in my garden and enjoy all the summer flowers that are blooming.  I love my backyard and I’m only able to enjoy it for a few months each summer, so I like to take advantage of the good weather. Outdoor Dining

Here in the Pacific Northwest, warmer weather and summer are slow in coming.  We have started to see a few warmer days and more sun and that has me thinking ahead to being able to enjoy outdoor dining again this year. Our last house had a wonderful deck out front and my husband and I enjoyed many meals outside. I don’t know why, but it felt like a picnic even when we didn’t go anywhere. Then after dinner we used to just relax and watch the traffic go by. It reminded me of times gone by when people would sit Click Here To Read Full Post →

Watson’s Nursery: Spring Flowers

Spring has arrived and that means I start thinking about Spring flowers.  And that means I start thinking about a trip to my favorite nursery, Watson’s Nursery in Puyallup, Washington.  Not only do they have the best flowers and plants in the area, but they have the best gift and home decor all attractively displayed as well as a large section with indoor plants and garden supplies. I always find something I want to add to my house or garden and this trip was no exception.  Look at those red geraniums.  They would look wonderful sitting on the steps leading Click Here To Read Full Post →

My Backyard Landscaping

I love my backyard!  In fact, It is one of the reasons we purchased our house.  The inside of the house was alright, but the backyard was exactly what I had been dreaming of. Most of the fern across the back was already there when we moved in, but I added the plants above that get the prettiest blue flowers each spring. The property behind us has a forested area behind our chain link fence and has lots of trees and bushes so we can hardly see the house.  It’s so relaxing sitting in the gazebo or on one of Click Here To Read Full Post →
